1. How long have you been in fandom?
I posted about Secret of Mana on AOL messageboards, so...90s.
2. Which fandoms are you in now?
Final Fantasy 4 takes up most of my brain space right now. Fanfic-wise, I've recently written mostly Bloodborne and Final Fantasy 14. I'm super into video games -- mostly retro games, horror, and RPGMaker stuff, occasionally Pokemon. Other stuff I am theoretically fannish about includes horror movies and a few book series (Johannes Cabal, Jeeves and Wooster, Arsene Lupin, Raffles). TBQH I am mostly into video games fannishly though.
3. Do you create transformative works (fic, fan art, podfic, etc.)?
Yeah. I'm trying to be more proactive and Do More Stuff. Mostly I write fanfic. I used to draw but I haven't in a long time and getting back into it is a bit of a psychological struggle, lol. I also make custom dolls, some of which are fan creations. My first completed doll was of Saya from Song of Saya (Pic 1, Pic 2) and I have a currently in-progress doll of the Lamb from Cult of the Lamb. I also cosplay sometimes.
4. What was your first fandom? Dragonlance. Raistlin/Dalamar was baby's first problematic yaoi.
5. How often has fic made you cry? Not often, I don't think, although I haven't cried over a book or movie in a very long time. On the other hand, there are some video games that I can literally just make myself cry by thinking too hard about. I dunno, man.
6. Rec a fic that you love!AO3 is down and I don't know enough non-AO3 places to rec stuff :( Maybe later.
7. Who's your ult OTP? Right now it's Emmanellain/Honoroit from FF14. I don't really have a lot of OTPs though I just ship a bunch of stuff.
8. Share a pic that would convince someone to fall for your current fandom! Please observe how cute my MMO catboy is. Here he is with my obscure FF4 blorbo who has like 3 lines, which they kindly put in the game for me.
Here is my favorite Final Fantasy character in the most famous localization decision of all time.
Here is Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos, my beautiful Bloodborne wife.
Here is the incredible opening line of Faith: The Unholy Trinity, my favorite horror game I've played recently.
9. Have you ever met a fandom friend IRL? Yes! Well, mostly I have met people I RP with in FF14. It's been awesome every time. I even flew out to visit one of my friends in a different state for a week! I always love meeting IRL.
10. What's the last fandom merch or craft you got? I tried to buy this extremely cute Spoony Bard shirt from Yetee but somehow failed to complete the transaction, and since it was a limited run shirt I have no means of purchasing it now. Boo.
11. Rare pairs, big ships, or gen? Rarepairs. I've never really liked any big ships -- maybe the closest I've ever come was liking Genji/Zenyatta from Overwatch but even then they were way more popular as background for a much bigger ship. I guess there are some "canon romances" I really enjoy.
12. Are you multi-fandom or mono-fannish? I think this is pretty obvious.
13. When did you last travel for a con, concert, fanmeet, or cupsleeve event? What the fuck is a cupsleeve event. The last time I went to a convention was GenCon 2020, which is a huge tabletop gaming con.
14. How did you get into your current fandom? I rented Final Fantasy 2 from Blockbuster when I was a child and it gave me permanent brain damage.
More seriously, FF14 threw in a lot of FF4 references recently, so I decided to stream a playthrough of FF4DS for my friends. Turns out I can talk about this game for literal hours of runtime.
15. What's your favorite trope? Highly Symbolic Ultraviolence, hurt/comfort (especially of the tending wounds variety), Rogue with a Heart of Gold, Faustian bargains, Came Back Wrong, master/servant loyalty (especially with age gaps)
16. What are 3 tags that will make you click no matter what? The aforementioned Master/Servant, Guro, anything to do with Undead

nonconathon is always fun, both from a writing perspective and the fact that everyone always seems so enthusiastic and positive about it!

19. What's your favorite episode, song, moment, etc. from your current fandom?
The hall of mirrors on Mt Ordeals. Don't think there's any question, really -- this bit absolutely forms the bedrock of how I think about storytelling in video games. In FF14, definitely the reveal of Amaurot up through the Dying Gasp trial.
Fannishly? Edward's confrontation with the sahagin in Kaipo, and the scene buried in a sidequest where Emmanellain mistakes Honoroit talking about him for talking about having a girlfriend, a thing I genuinely cannot believe even made it into the game.

It's so weird because I remember so little about the series in general, but I remember how EXCITED I was when a book dedicated to his backstory came out, and I got the hardcover copy as soon as it came out even though I wasn't really one for huge unwieldy books.

I was thinking about Dragonlance recently because I discovered there's a Russian musical about Raistlin?? There's like 3 different performances on youtube, it's crazy. And it definitely took me back to being in middle school and being REALLY interested in the part where Raistlin burns a handprint into Dalamar's chest for reasons I couldn't really explain, lol.
