YEAH it looks so...Like...I mean the first Star Wars had basically a hovercraft but they made it look cool and removed the goofy skirt part.
I can only imagine that it looks so un-fancy because it's not actually some kind of unique leisure vehicle but there's like a bunch of them and the rest just got destroyed in the bombing. Maybe it's less like Edward was tooling around in a Rolls Royce and more like he just borrowed his uncle's Jeep for the weekend.
